AUSI Scuba Adventure (Open Water Introduction)
The AUSI Scuba Adventure (Introduction to Scuba) course is designed to train divers to safely enjoy an introductory dive to nine metres (30 ft) in open water that has direct vertical access to the surface while under the direct supervision of an instructor during daylight hours.
Note: This program is Module 1 of the AUSI Level I & II Scuba Diver programs and successful participants can be credited.
Prerequisites
Prior to participating on an AUSI Scuba Adventure course the participant must:
- Be at least 12 years of age,
- Be medically fit to scuba dive
Training
The course has two components:
- Theory - one presentation, lesson review and test
- Practical Skills - one session which must be conducted in a pool or enclosed water, and
- Ocean Dives - one ocean dive to a maximum depth of nine metres (30 ft),
Note: For the dive to be credited towards further training then the minimum depth shall be four metres (15 ft) and the dive time shall be at least 20 minutes.
