Introductory Scuba Programs (Pre-Entry Level Scuba Diving)
Scuba Experience – an introduction to scuba diving in shallow enclosed water.
Scuba Adventure – an introduction to scuba diving in open water ie the ocean, to a maximum depth of nine metres (30 ft).
AUSI Level I Scuba Diver – Supervised Scuba Diver, trained to dive in open water to nine metres (30ft) while under the direct supervision of an AUSI Scuba Instructor.
Open Water (Entry Level Scuba Diving)
AUSI Level II Scuba Diver – International Open Water, trained to dive in open water with a similarly trained and experienced scuba diver to 18 metres (60 ft) in daylight hours without the direct supervision of an AUSI Scuba Instructor.
Continuing Education (Post Entry Level Scuba Diving)
AUSI Level III Scuba Diver – Advanced Open Water, trained to dive in open water to 30 metres (100 ft) in daylight hours and 18 metres (60 ft) at night without the direct supervision of an AUSI Scuba Instructor. Also trained in basic underwater navigation.
AUSI Level IV Scuba Diver – Deep Diver, trained to dive in open water to 39 metres (130 ft) in daylight hours without the direct supervision of an AUSI Scuba Instructor.
AUSI Level V Scuba Diver – Master Scuba Diver, a diver who is certified as both AUSI Level IV Scuba Diver (Deep Diver) and AUSI Rescue Diver (below).
AUSI Level VI Scuba Diver – Dive Leader, trained in dive leadership and underwater guiding.
Other Scuba Specialties
AUSI Scuba Assistant (NEW) – trained to be able to assist an AUSI Scuba Instructor
AUSI Rescue Diver – trained in scuba rescue, CPR, oxygen provision and first aid.
Other specialties include: Underwater Photography, Drift Diving, Night Diving, Boat Diving, Wreck Diving, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigation, Cave & Sinkhole Diving, Technical Diving plus more.
Professional Levels
AUSI Level VI Scuba Professional – Dive Master, trained in dive leadership and underwater guiding.
AUSI Scuba Adventure Instructor – able to conduct the AUSI Scuba Adventure program.
AUSI Level I Scuba Instructor – Assistant Instructor.
AUSI Level II – VI Scuba Instructor – Open Water and specialty instructor.
AUSI Scuba Instructor Trainer – can conduct AUSI Level I and Level II Scuba Instructor programs.
AUSI Scuba Instructor Examiner – can act as an independent assessor for AUSI Level II Scuba Instructor programs.
Professional Cross Over Programs - qualifies Dive Masters, Assistant Instructors and Scuba Instructors from other agencies can become registered AUSI Professionals by doing an on-line Cross Over. The Cross Over is Free*.
