Rescue Diver
The AUSI Rescue Diver course is designed to train divers in self-rescue, scuba diver rescue, diving physiology, oxygen provision, first aid and resuscitation.
Note:
- This course meets the requirements of the DAN Oxygen Provider and some courses may include the relevant DAN certificate.
- Divers who have the AUSI Level IV Scuba Diver award can also be awarded the AUSI Level V Scuba Diver (Master Diver) award.
Prerequisites
Prior to participating on an AUSI Rescue Diver course the participant must:
- Be at least 15 years of age,
- Be medically fit to scuba dive, and
- Be a certified AUSI Level II Scuba Diver (Open Water) or approved equivalent
Training
The course has four components:
- Theory -
six presentations, lesson reviews and test,
- Practical Skills -
three sessions which must be conducted in a pool or enclosed water.
- Resuscitation & Oxygen - three sessions, and
- Ocean Scenarios - one ocean session.
